Journey through twisting rhododendrons and ancient trees to a tranquil clearing on the Bonython Estate where a luxury New England-style cottage promises sweet relief from the pressures of the everyday. Here, time stands still. With nothing to do but snooze in the dappled shade of a sycamore or sink into the hot tub, self-care is of the utmost importance. Outside the realms of your paradisiacal garden retreat, The Lizard offers a wealth of sheltered coves and quiet beaches, where sparkling seas tempt lazy SUP sessions and sunset dips.

Echoing the fresh colours of spring in full swing, East Lodge interiors are awash with hues of budding green and forget-me-not blue, while the two bedrooms flaunt huge sash windows looking out into the private gardens, offering the most tranquil of spots for breakfast in bed. The master superking bedroom boasts a beautifully designed ensuite; with a darling slipper bath and a separate walk-in overhead rainfall shower. Charcoal and grey marbled tiling hugs the wall of the walk-in overhead rainfall shower that accompanies the stylish second twin bedroom.

In summer, throw open the doors to let birdsong flow through the open-plan living area while in winter, fire up the wood burner and settle in for an afternoon of board games around the lovely round refectory dining table. Sit back and relax on the luxurious sofa while admiring the owners artwork in the property. All the paintings depict our beautiful gardens that can be enjoyed at any time during your stay. There is wireless internet access (provided free of charge) and a smart TV in the living room. A cot and high-chair are always available.

Whether your staycation intentions are to idle or roam far, everything is catered for at East Lodge. Being able to wander the 20 acres of gardens and lakes at any time of the day to simply enjoy the peace and quiet is a great privilege not experienced by many. East Lodge is perfectly located for visiting the beautiful coves and coastal pathways of the Lizard Peninsula where unspoilt Cornish magic is found in abundance. World-renowned beaches, picturesque fishing villages and the freshest seafood you can find all hide within these craggy cliffs, while the leafy, wending Helford River is just a couple of miles away. At the end of the day, retreat to the hot tub with a glass of something cool, sky above fading from cerulean to flamingo to coal.

When we think of East Lodge and its tranquil setting surrounded by well-loved gardens, as well as its proximity to the coast, we think of paradise.
