An unusual name for an unusual place, and a wonderful one-bedroom space for two people.
Accessed via the private Estate road this building closes the eastern side of the original 16th century courtyard complex. Having left your car in its dedicated parking space, it is a few steps through a gate in the enclosing wall to a completely private patio courtyard. With a small wood to the north and lawn to the south, once inside, Spring-Water Barn is full of surprises!
Originally part of the Manor Farm, in more recent times parts of the buildings were used to house the pumping mechanisms for the Estate’s private supplies of spring water. Now removed, it has been possible to enlarge and upgrade the accommodation which caters especially and exclusively for just two people.

A large sitting area is open to the eaves and focuses on a huge granite hearth (now filled with a most efficient wood burning stove). Furnishings are contemporary and luxurious with a dining area and open plan, granite topped kitchen, separate utility room with washing machine and tumble drier plus boot store etc. WiFi is provided free of charge. A cot and high-chair are always available.
The sitting room has a flat-screen TV, and the bedroom boasts a huge king size bed of excellent quality, with padded headboard, and fitted with luxurious cotton sheets, duvet and mattress topper for ultimate comfort. Within the bedroom, for pampering, candlelit bathing, is a Victorian style roll- top bath – complete with aromatic candle for that special relaxation. In the adjoining room are a separate shower, vanity unit and WC.
Whilst privacy, peace and seclusion are the hallmark of Spring-Water Barn, the renowned twenty acre Bonython Estate Gardens are there for guests to enjoy whenever they choose. Similarly, Cornwall lovers will find plenty to explore to kindle their love for the magic of Cornwall. This is what many people discover – that a short Cornish break repays the investment many times over and starts - or rekindles - a love affair that lasts a lifetime.
Over the centuries, the ancient granite walls have been home to a variety of dwellers and uses. Now, in their present most luxurious guise, they succour the spirit, whilst the unspoiled surroundings of the beautiful Lizard peninsula nurture the soul.
It was once said that ‘a part of Cornwall resides in every Englishman’. Spring-Water Barn is a place to start that journey!
