Second Lake B 810 x 180 SueLakeTwoG152 SueLakeTwoF152

Sue Nathan started the creation of the garden in this area in 2000. Having been brought up in South Africa, she felt that the banks of the lake were ideal to plant and grow a host of South African plants.

Because of its warm shelter it is ideal for the hot colours of late summer planting. and so all the reds, oranges, yellows of the colour palette are to be found here. Cannas, rubeckias, proteas, restios, dahlias, and many varieties of grasses all mix happily together on the lush banks of the second lake.

Unusual planting around the second lake gives it startling colour and vibrancy
