The Courtyard Garden
This is the closest garden to the house, and the one we see every day, so it is planted for show and colour in every season.
AND THE EVOCATIVE SCENT OF THYME AS IT IS CRUSHED UNDERFOOT
Originally I thought this would be herbs and spicy plants, but what I really love is colour - and the herbs were just not showy enough! So with the inclusion of profusely flowering alpines, it is now a mass of colour close to the house. We can still walk through it with plants and colour filling every nook and cranny.
